Black Panther Marvels last movie before Avengers: Infinity War (In cinemas April 27th) has hit goals higher than ever thought possible. The movie being about T’Challa returning to the African nation of Wakanda to take his rightful place as king. This movie being a black centric movie was a change for Marvel Studios.
As of March 14th Black Panther has topped the $1.1billion mark and has passed Transformers: Age of Extinction and Skyfall. This now makes the movie the 18th biggest global grossing movie of all time. It is presumed that the movie will top Captain America: Civil War (2016). Black Panther could be the first movie since Avatar (2009) to top the weekend box office for five straight weekends.
During the film Chadwick Boseman (T’Challa/Black Panther) faces against Michael B. Jordan (Erik Kilmonger) in spectacular battle. During the movie Wakanda (The Fictional city) is in civil disagreement between staying traditional and changing with the times.
Overall this movie directed by Ryan Coogler and produced by Kevin Feige and David J. Grant defiantly surprised the higher ups at Marvel Studios and Disney with this diverse and visually spectacular movie. It’s not a surprise the movie was that successful.
